The mission of the Community Resources Foundation is to administer and cultivate programs that foster a healthy community.
The Community Resources Foundation envisions a thriving and connected community, one in which all of its members have dependable access to resources that enrich and empower lives. A community where all of it's members feel they can belong, one in which everyone has a chance to both contribute and receive. A community where everyone can feel fulfilled by their involvement.
The Community Resources Foundation was founded in 1997 as a nonprofit community service organization to take over the management of the Stanwood Camano Community Resource Center. The Community Resource Center was originally opened in 1992 under the temporary management of Deaconess Children's Services. We achieved our goal of becoming community owned and operated within five years.
The Foundation Operates on Basic Family Support Principles:
- We are owned and operated by the community
- We focus on the strengths and capabilities of the people we serve
- Our emphasis is on the prevention of problems
- We honor and embrace diversity
- We work in partnership with the community
Today the Community Resources Foundation operates multiple programs that benefit the community. The Foundation met the needs of over 6,000 community members in 2015 with a variety of programs and services.
